The Pyrenees Shire Emergency Animal Welfare Plan has been revised and this is your opportunity to view it and provide feedback.
The Pyrenees Shire Emergency Animal Welfare Plan is a subplan of the Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMP). The Emergency Animal Welfare Plan attaches to the core function of the MEMP and is aligned with Regional and State plans.
Subplans to the MEMP are required to pass the assurance processes, the same as the main plan.
The decisions to make a plan a “subplan” is made by the Municipal Emergency Management Committee (MEMPC), it is usually based on the plan having multiple agencies involved in the plans functions being response, recovery and relief.
The Emergency Animal Welfare Plan 2023 has been updated to incorporate the changes in the Emergency Management Act that came into effect in late 2020.
The revised Emergency Animal Welfare Plan can be downloaded from the document library on this page.
Hard Copies are also available upon request from the Beaufort Council Office and Resource Centres in Beaufort and Avoca for public viewing.
