Have your say on better footpaths for Avoca

Project Overview

Pathways help keep communities vibrant and connected. Being able to move around easily means local residents can leave the car at home, tourists can explore the town, kids can get to school safely and businesses get more foot traffic.

Pyrenees Shire Council is working to improve footpaths in Avoca with the help of funding from the Australian Government Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

Council is seeking input from residents and business owners to find the areas in Avoca that are most in need of new footpaths or upgrades to existing footpaths.

So far, Council has identified six potential development projects (see map and descriptions below) for the Avoca Pathways Project. Based on community feedback, Council has agreed that project number 6 (new pathways joining Homebush Road and Boyce Street to the VLINE rail pedestrian crossing)is high priority.

The funds available are unlikely to cover all of the remaining projects, so we want to get feedback from the community on the proposals below, as well as suggestions on what other areas of the town could do with pathway improvement or extensions.

Your input will help Council decide which of the projects are most important for the benefit of the whole community.

The proposed projects are listed below, including the project already identified as high priority (number 6).
